TV: Spooks [Lurks]

Most the EED posse have been following BBC's MI5 drama since it started a few weeks ago. It got off to a weak start but the last couple of episodes have lent a much needed grit to the whole thing and it's coming along very nicely indeed. I like it a lot, best thing the Beeb has done for ages.

  1. At first, it was an unsure mix of overstylish drama and nonsense, but now Spooks is starting to find itself and settle down. Thankfully, it has so far shown to be not just 'Bugs for Adults', with ambitious stories and what perhaps might be some vaguely intriguing series-long story arcs. URL: A network of non-standard BBC websites too.

  2. Report any errors in the above web site to Beej, since they are all clearly his fault.

  3. Hm, it would seem that there are only two more episodes of Spooks left? URL: Credits only lists eps1-6.

  4. You saying there's only 6 eps or what?

  5. Just mailed the Producer of the Spooks site, he says: 'Yep, only the six now - but they're negotiating the contracts for a second series at the moment. No DVD release news yet!'

  6. My fucking *GOD* this series rocks harder than Status Quo. Hugh Laurie is downright *awesome* and god help any bean counting shitbag at the Beeb that turns Spooks into another Ultraviolet!

  7. The only thing that's slightly spoiling it is the lame bits with the two spooks that live in the house. Also the spook bird's character doesn't seem like the sort that would just sit on the crooked Tessa thing. Also, the bird with kid that Tom fancies. This is horseshit, women would get fucking wet over an MI5 bloke - they love the power. Utterly unrealistic. Other than that, it's bloody superb.

  8. Saw it for the first time last night. Quite enjoyed it, despite the dissapointment of the foxy jap woman leaving so soon :-)

  10. Right, just seen the tape of this week's episode - fucking best yet, bloody brilliant. Hugh Laurie was great, really like the characters of Tom and his boss, and like lurkah, I can't fucking believe the horseshit with his girlfriend. If she can't get over it, and moves out, she's on fucking crack. Jap bird ugly as sin. Zoe a fox.

  11. That stupid whining fucking BITCH of a girlfriend should be taken out the back of a pub and shot frankly - the guy is doing an ENORMOUS service to his country (as well as being speechlessly l33t) and all she can do is cry lots and make arsey dumb comments.

  12. She's not even that fit. And she has a kid. Why doesn't he fuck her off? 6 episodes. The BBC sucks. Remember, the last episode of Spooks is on at 9pm on BBC1. Don't miss it!

  14. What Muz refers to is that at the end of tonights episode (the bitch bought it w00t, actually two did) an announce said that Spooks will be returning next year. Given that's 6 months away at least, this is somewhat lame. A month per episode at my reckoning. Dammit! 6 months of BBC drivel no doubt.
