Cursed. [shedir]

I've realised I'm mobile phone cursed. After the 5 t68i's I had through carphone warehouse they exchanged for a nokia 6610. I like the 6610. except for it not working either.

"Insert sim card", people phoning rings twice for them and then cuts out leaving no message, randomly turning off. I'm now on the 4th one of these. T-Mobile deny it's them, CPWH change them on request. End of the day I'm cancelling. Only started the contract in fucking FEB 2003 FFS and I've had to visit their shop far too often.

So once they actually send me a box and manual for it (never got one when I handed in t68i) its ebay bound! Don't let me down ebayers, top $ please :).

But saw this offer in my currant bun, Voda anytime online 100. Bloody cheap rental, good phone. Ideal. Bye bye T-Mobile.

Oh another thing I heard.

T-Mobile have changed their contract setup. If you get a new phone you had a 14/28 day period where you could cancel the lot if it didn't suit you. No longer. Once you start the contact you're stuck with it for the duration. The other part to this is they do not guarantee reception INDOORS, so unless you're a park warder you have no recourse. IMO avoid like the plauge ridden puss addled

  1. On the other hand, I've been using T-Mobile for years and it's been perfect. Not to mention a shit load cheaper than most of the other operators too.

  2. Must be my imagination then. cheers.

  3. With this many recurring problems, doesn't this sound like an environment problem rather than one with the handset(s)? Maybe your cell reception is iffy, or there's interference from another source. Shrug :) G'luck with Voda, I'm happy with 'em.

  4. It happens everywhere, in the car or bus, at my desk, at coffee, in the house. it also works sometimes at all of the above. fucking pain in the chuff. other t-mob folks at same locations are fine.

  5. I've never met you so don't take this personally. Do you sweat a lot ? Maybe a case for the phone would help.

  6. It's already in a leather case. More lynx please.

  7. Heh! Never said it was your imagination but when you're calling on everyone to dump T-mobile, I thought I'd point out I've used them for years with no problems. I'd go with what Beej says as an environmental problem really.
That may well be fixed by another operator. Although those changes to the contract sound a bit stinky too so that's all a valid point too of course. I'd move operator if I were you too.

  8. Thats plan A. Anyone here want a nokia 6610 for £100? Box and manual still to come, charger and radio headies inc :)

  9. Phone 9 also doing the same thing. It has to be this location or something. So it's useless anyway, got to get it to fuck. doing my nut in.Phone 9 still acting up. Went to CPWH, "ah you've an old style sim mate". Sure as shit the one he showed me, the gold bit was wider than mine. New on ordered, t-mobile being more anal than dave refused to say if I'd get a newer type of sim. Still no box/manual. bah.

  10. 6610 for £100 sounds nice. Is it operator locked in any way? Currently got a 3100, very pleased with it so far, but I'd really like to have infra red capabilities, datacables for the new phones are bloody expensive.

  11. Meaty, just buy the datacable off ebay. Zero money for 3rd party cables. Bought the one being used for Rebot's SMS line for a princely £7. (34739348 Norwegian Kroners)

  12. New phat style SIM arrived today and works in the locations it was dodgy previously. Perhaps this is it! I've only 3 months left on the bloody contract mind you. Then I'll start with another provider. If it fails again meaty I'll punt to you tho :)
