I grabbed a jar of some other Nescafe stuff called Cap Columbie the other day and I quite like that actually, taste is closer to proper coffee. I drink it all black and quite strong. While I was down the supermarket I noticed a load of others knocking about these days. Anyone recommend any other freeze-dried coffee?

What's the best coffee? [lurks]
Posted by
Dave
I used to be a coffee snob. Had a perculator on the go, loved a particular set of dark beans and all that. I've always been a coffee junky but over the years I just can't be arsed with it that much. So maybe the last year or something I've been alternating between instant coffee and green tea (yeah, weird I know). Normally Nescafe Black Gold as only freeze-dried coffee actually tastes like coffee at all to me.

For that ultimate experience - try Camp coffee!
ReplyDeleteStill not adult enough for coffee. Drink water all day every day, and my feeble quasi-womanly body is a temple (but for who you ask?). Ph34r.
ReplyDeleteThat's why you're a bit dim see, it's a well-known fact that children reared on coffee have a good few IQ points on those that weren't. They also have bigger, thicker penises and are more attractive to women.
ReplyDeleteInstant coffee? SICK SICK SICK! Having said that, Cap Colombie is the best instant I've tried. However I'd recommend investing in a cafetiere, perhaps one of the mug/cafetiere hybrids Woolworths flog for a fiver. Instant coffee ease, real coffee flavour. Mmmm.
ReplyDeleteYou have a point, that's the sort of thing I need. I've got a nice filter maker but I only know for sure that I'm going to want a couple of cups. Cleaning and stuff on a cafetiere is probably a bunch easier although washing any spare coffee grains down my already half-clogged sink is probably not a great move. :)
ReplyDeleteFill used cafetiere with water, dump contents down the bog, flush. Grains gone, sink unclogged. Sorted!
ReplyDeleteI hate coffee, so therefore if I'm having any I go for really good stuff. I buy Jamaican Blue Mountain (Java), I get it ground in the store though I don't have a grinder myself - a bit bold.
ReplyDeleteLurks, I remember you had some when you crashed in my gaff a couple of years back, was good. :)
Did you know the most expensive coffee beans you can get have 'passed through' a fox? What I want to know is how the hell did someone discover they tasted nice? And what else did he try before he finally made this discovery!
ReplyDeleteThere is only ONE coffee worth talking about. Jamaican Blue Mountain.
ReplyDeleteDouwe Egberts' dark roast does it for me.
ReplyDeletedon't call me fucktard, u fucktard! bah.
ReplyDeleteOddly since I drink so much coffee I haven't got any particular favourite brand... I have a tendancy to walk into a decent deli (or failing that a Starbucks) which grinds beans on the spot and just pick whatever Arabica stuff looks/smells nice at the time. I should probably pick up a small grinder and just buy beans, actually...
ReplyDeleteTeeth: Only a fucktard would put the bloody posting password in the your name/nick box. Fucktard!
